A decade of interstate moves, run by our own crews
Cross Country Movers Group has helped thousands of American families relocate across the country — and the people who pack and load your home are on our payroll, not hired for the morning.
Our history runs more than a decade. Over those years we built our moving services around what customers actually asked for rather than around a fixed package, which is why every service we offer is optional: you pick the ones that suit the move you are making, and you pay for those.
Choose full relocation and our packers dismantle and box your belongings in materials we supply, load them onto our own truck, and drive them to the destination. On arrival the same crew unloads, unpacks and reassembles everything they took apart.
When the dates do not line up — and on a long distance move they often do not — thirty days of storage is included. Your shipment waits in a facility we control, not on a broker’s lot.
If a car has to travel too, it goes on the same order: open or enclosed trailer, door to door or terminal to terminal, handled by crews trained for it. One coordinator, one price, one company answering the phone.

My residence was a quaint cottage in Modesto, nestled on a hillside with a driveway resembling a winding road. A skilled team of technicians managed to skillfully navigate two compact moving trucks up this challenging driveway. They then promptly got to work, packing 85 boxes of books and various other household items with impressive speed. Within the first seven hours, they had packed and loaded one of the trucks, thoughtfully leaving me an area to sleep, eat, and handle my emails. The following morning, they were punctual, arriving shortly after seven. By just after nine, my house was emptied, cleaned, and all my belongings were securely loaded onto the trucks. The new location was close to the old one, and the team swiftly unloaded, unwrapped, and arranged everything in my new home. (They left the unpacking of the books to me.) The team from Cross Country Movers Group then departed just before noon. Their service was remarkably quick, smooth, meticulous, and efficient. The cherry on top was that the final cost came in under the initial estimate, making for a satisfying conclusion to the moving process.

I have to leave off one star because there was a LOT of drama in delivery — after waiting nearly 3 weeks for delivery I was told my stuff would be delivered after the "guaranteed" deadline. Three hours arguing over the phone got them to make the delivery happen in the agreed upon time. Other than being without my things for 3 weeks — almost longer — it was an overall positive experience! All my items are accounted for and looking good. Thanks to everyone, especially Tim, for your help!

323-379-1382 All moving questionsHow is a long distance moving price calculated?
By the weight of your shipment, the mileage between the two addresses, and the services you add — packing, crating, storage, stairs or a long carry. Once the survey is done that number is fixed in a binding estimate.
Can the price change on loading day?
Not on a binding estimate. It changes only if you add items or services that were not in the survey, and we tell you the new figure before we load them.
How long does delivery take?
Two to five days under 1,000 miles, and six to twelve coast to coast. You get a delivery window in writing when you book, and a call the day before with a two-hour arrival slot.
Is my shipment on one truck the whole way?
Yes. We load it once and unload it at your new address — no warehouse transfers, no re-handling, and our own crew at both ends.
What if my new home is not ready?
Your shipment goes into storage under your own inventory number. The first thirty days are included on every long distance move.
What happens if something is damaged?
Every interstate move carries released-value protection by law, and full-value protection is available. Claims go to a named coordinator here, not a call center.
